Ethion EC47% is an insecticide, acaricide, and non-systemic which works on contact and belongs to the group of the organophosphorus compounds. It is an inhibitor of the cholinesterase enzyme in the nervous system of organisms. This poison is used in winter along with oil to eliminate eggs of insects, ticks, and weevils. It has no plant-burning property except in some cases on apples.
